Further to the excellent network of roads that make accessing Tampa International Airport and downtown Tampa easy, there is also a good variety of other ground transportation options.
Public buses run to downtown from the airport and to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, while free shuttles run to downtown Tampa, as do taxis and limousines. Additionally, various hotels offer transport to their hotels via courtesy vans.
The Sarasota-Tampa Express runs direct to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport from the Blue Quadrant 1 and Red Quadrant 2 posts, outside the airport terminal. In addition, HARTline route number 30 runs to central Tampa and nearby destinations from the bus stop at Baggage Reclaim (Red).
For the budget conscious, there is a free shuttle service which runs from the airport to International Plaza shopping mall in Tampa. Shared van services are also available from the airport to all points in Tampa for added convenience. Shuttle bus operations include Airport Limos, Bay Shuttle to Hillsborough County and SuperShuttle, and destinations served include Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties.
Hotel Shuttle Buses
Those who have reservations at a substantial hotel or motel establishment will generally find that a courtesy pickup and drop-off airport service is thrown in with the room. Most of Tampa's major hotels offer this service; check the boards in Baggage Reclaim for further information.
Taxi desks are located at either end of Arrivals, from where you can book shared-ride taxis and limousines. The two taxi cab operators at Tampa International Airport (TPA) are Yellow Cab (tel: +1 813 253 0121) and United Cab (tel: +1 813 253 2424).
There are a couple of luxury limousine operators that serve Tampa International Airport for those who require greater comfort and convenience. Classic Limo's and Travel (tel: +1 850 421 1933) and VIP Limousine (tel: +1 850 681 6062) both have services to Tampa hotels, downtown and the beaches.
